Night of Destiny

The story follows Mr. Slimami, who witnesses a murder while on a walk in Paris. As an Algerian retiree, he grapples with the decision of whether to come forward to the authorities after seeing a prominent businessman killed. His reluctance is fueled by a desire for personal safety and a belief that the police should manage their own cases.

Slimami's son, Alilou, a young journalist, criticizes the lack of cooperation from witnesses in the Muslim community, unaware that his father is the very witness he condemns. The film delves into the complexities of familial relationships and cultural expectations, set against the backdrop of a tense crime narrative. With a cast featuring Philippe Volter, Boris Terral, Gamil Ratib, and Sonia Mankaï, this film presents a rich exploration of character and community dynamics in a multicultural city.
