Nove Águas

The film takes place in Brazil during the year 1930, where Marcos and his family are descendants of slaves. They leave the Jequitinhonha Valley, driven by drought, hunger, and violence, in search of a new home in the Mucuri Valley. As quilombolas, they aim to establish a community in a new territory.

Decades later, their peace is threatened by a construction company that seeks to build a dam in their territory. This conflict highlights the ongoing struggles faced by marginalized communities and the impact of external forces on their lives.
