Our Town

In 1906, Takichi returns to Japan after a difficult stint working in the Philippines. He takes on the role of a rickshaw driver, facing the challenges of his past, including the loss of his lover who left him with a baby girl, Hatsue. As Hatsue matures, she finds love with Shintaro, but her father, Takichi, disapproves of their relationship, setting the stage for conflict.
