The film follows Luisa, a 25-year-old woman who is addicted to chiva (heroin). She travels to a beach in Veracruz, hoping that the change of scenery will help her quit the drug. In her quest for recovery, Luisa forges relationships with the locals, especially with Salomon, a 65-year-old peasant who becomes a significant figure in her life.
