The story follows Jan, who, along with his friend Cracker, becomes entangled in a series of crimes in their downtrodden neighborhood. When Jan encounters the affluent Sabina, he seeks to escape his current life but confronts harsh realities in the upper echelons of society.

As Jan's aspirations for love and success clash with the contempt he faces, he learns that trust is a scarce resource, and self-reliance becomes his only option.
