Persistence of the memory

The documentary chronicles the formation of Yuyachkani in 1971, a group founded by young Peruvian playwrights. The name Yuyachkani translates to "I am thinking, I am remembering," which reflects the group's emphasis on memory and reflection in their work.

In 1996, the group celebrated its anniversary with a retrospective performance of its most significant works, allowing members to reflect on their artistic journey. This film captures not only the performances but also the cultural and historical context that shaped their contributions to theater in Peru.
