Gundula Glöckner is a concerned mother determined to secure her daughter Lena's happiness. With Lena repeatedly choosing unsuitable partners, Gundula embarks on a pilgrimage to Padua, hoping to pray for her daughter's future at the tomb of St. Anthony. However, the journey is far from smooth, as the group encounters a series of mishaps along the way.

The character of Gundula portrays a strong, resolute figure facing her challenges head-on. The bus driver, Benno, initially appears brash and difficult, but as the story unfolds, his vulnerability is revealed.
