Places That Do Not Exist (Goggle Earth 1.0)

This project consists of a collection of films and portraits showcasing places that are not represented on Google Earth. The filmmakers traveled to military grounds, government buildings, natural parks, and other locations in Spain, Colombia, Ecuador, Russia, and Australia to document their true appearances. These sites include areas where illegal construction has taken place and nudist beaches, highlighting a wide range of landscapes that Google Earth overlooks.

The installation presents a duality, juxtaposing the unrealistic view from Google Earth with realistic, ground-level images. This contrast invites viewers to reconsider the reliability of digital representations versus actual experiences of these places. The project showcases not only the beauty of lesser-known locations but also raises questions about visibility and representation in our increasingly digital world.
