Pograbek is a curious piece, really. The film reflects a certain bleakness, contrasting the protagonist's philosophical musings with the harsh realities of his desires. The pacing might feel slow to some, but it allows the viewer to fully immerse in the atmosphere of the small village and the internal struggles of the characters. The performances, particularly from the lead, manage to capture this unique blend of desperation and hope. What I find distinct about this TV movie is how it tackles themes like infertility and unconventional parenthood in a rather unfiltered way. It’s not flashy – you won’t find any grand effects or overwrought dramatics – but it sticks with you, leaving a lingering sense of discomfort and reflection.
