Population Zero is one of those films that really pulls you into a grim atmosphere right from the start. The eerie backdrop of Yellowstone adds a haunting touch, almost like a character itself. The pacing is deliberate, which I found builds tension beautifully. The themes of justice and the loopholes in the system are explored with a certain rawness, especially with Dwayne Nelson’s unsettling confession. It's not flashy, but there's a sense of realism in the performances that makes it all the more disturbing. The practical effects are minimal but effective, enhancing the film's gritty tone. It's definitely a thought-provoking piece, leaving you with more questions than answers. A unique entry in the crime-mystery genre, for sure.
