Pride and Extreme Prejudice, a 1990 TV movie, has this raw edge to it that's hard to shake off. You’ve got Dennehy playing a former operative caught in a web of paranoia, with both the CIA and KGB on his tail. The pacing is a bit off at times, swinging between frantic action and drawn-out tension, but that just adds to its unique charm. The practical effects are definitely dated but have a certain grit that modern CGI often lacks. Themes of betrayal and the murky waters of espionage play out in a way that feels familiar yet fresh, giving it a distinctive flavor. The performances, especially Dennehy's, are grounded, evoking a palpable sense of desperation.
Not your typical spy thriller. · Dennehy's performance is solid and engaging. · The pacing can be uneven but adds to its character.
