Private Enterprise is a unique little comedy that dances between the lines of crime and music biz shenanigans. The film follows Keith, a small-time crook, who makes a hasty decision to pocket a demo tape from the now-defunct band Toy Department. The fun really kicks off when he teams up with promoter Brian, leading to some clever twists as they navigate the ups and downs of newfound fame. The pacing has a nice rhythm, much like a good pop song, with its share of quirky characters and amusing situations. The performances are solid, especially from the leads, who manage to bring a lively energy to the often chaotic narrative. It’s a quirky exploration of ambition and the music industry with its own kind of charm.
