So, Psycho Cop Returns is this wild blend of horror and dark comedy. Directed by Adam Rifkin, it has this grungy, almost DIY feel that really captures that early '90s vibe. The premise is straightforward yet absurd – office workers throwing a party in their building but, of course, they attract the wrong kind of attention. Joe Vickers, our not-so-heroic cop, is relentless and kind of a caricature, which adds a layer of absurdity to the tension. The pacing keeps you engaged; it’s a mix of suspense and ridiculousness. There's some solid practical effects that have this charm, and the performances are a bit over-the-top, which works for the tone. It’s one of those films you can't quite categorize easily but definitely leaves an impression.
