Purgatory: Zone of Murderers

In a near-future South Korea, the government enforces the Permanent Exile Law to control the population by exiling death row inmates to a detention center known as Purgatory. This facility, constructed in abandoned nuclear power plants, grants a degree of self-governance to its inhabitants, leading to a chaotic environment that the government struggles to manage.

The story follows Yu-seong, a police officer wrongfully sentenced to death row after seeking revenge for the murder of his family. He is presented with a deal by the Director of the National Intelligence Service: eliminate the Purgatory Boss, the dominant figure in the detention center, in exchange for a potential pardon. This high-stakes mission propels Yu-seong into a world of danger and moral ambiguity as he navigates the treacherous landscape of Purgatory.
