Rathnan Prapancha is quite an interesting blend of comedy and drama. You have Rathnakara, an insurance agent, who seems to live in this bubble created by his loud mother, Saroja. The film really captures that sense of mundanity, you know? But then it flips the narrative when Rathnakara is faced with an uncomfortable truth about his life. It's this journey of self-discovery that feels relatable yet written with a touch of humor. The pacing sometimes feels a bit uneven, but it kind of works with the themes of introspection and familial ties. Performances are solid, especially that of the mother β she brings a lot of energy. Itβs not your usual fare, and I think that makes it stand out in its own way.
