Redemption

The documentary weaves together four distinct stories that span various locations and times. It begins in a small village in northern Portugal in 1975, where a child writes to his parents in Angola, expressing the sadness of Portugal. The narrative then shifts to Milan in 2011, where an elderly man reflects on his first love, followed by a poignant moment in Paris in 2012, where a father grapples with his role in his daughter’s life.

The film also captures a wedding ceremony in Leipzig in 1977, where a bride struggles with the overwhelming presence of a Wagner opera in her thoughts. These narratives raise questions about where and when individuals seek redemption, making for a thought-provoking exploration of personal and collective histories.
