Refugee Poetry

In just four minutes, Refugee Poetry tells the story of Zeravan Khalil, a Kurdish Iraqi poet and actor, who is accompanied by his dog as he traverses an Alpine gorge. After fleeing from the atrocities of IS war and genocide, Khalil pens a poem titled "You drive me mad" in Kurmanji Kurdish, capturing the essence of his experiences and memories.

The film highlights the struggles faced by Yazidic Kurds in their homeland, where they are prohibited from pursuing their professions. As Khalil wanders through Europe, he eats an apple and carries a sense of hope for the future.
