Reina y Rey

The narrative follows Reina, a lonely widow living in Cuba, whose only friend is her little black dog named Rey. When Rey goes missing, Reina starts to reflect on her life and existence. Her old patrons from Miami return after twenty years, urging her to leave Cuba with them.

As Reina spends time with her visitors, she ultimately realizes that her solitary life in Cuba holds more value for her. This poignant story delves into the complexities of belonging and the choice between the past and present.
