Repulsion

The story follows Hao, who faces the impending demolition of his family home due to urban renewal. With his inheritance, he plans to purchase a new house for himself and his mother, Hsia, in hopes of starting anew. However, he discovers that Hsia has been using the inheritance for political contributions, driven by her fervent support for mayoral candidate CHIANG Chung-Yao.

As tensions rise, Hao becomes increasingly concerned about his mother’s political fanaticism. Fearing that she will squander the family’s assets, he resorts to holding her captive in an attempt to prevent further financial loss. The film delves into the dynamics of familial relationships amidst political fervor, showcasing complex emotions and moral dilemmas.
