The documentary centers around Masha Godovannaya's curated program, Avant-Garde Alternatives: An Evolution of American Experimental Film. This program toured Russia, stopping in cities like Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Yekaterinburg. The film offers an intimate glimpse into Yefgeny Yufit's life, filmed at his home beside Lake Seliger.

As the filmmakers assist Yufit with repairs on his house, they are treated to fresh fish from his daily catches. This interaction highlights both the personal and artistic connections that Yufit fostered throughout his life. Riba serves not only as a tribute but also as an exploration of the unique artistic vision that Yufit embodied until his passing in 2016.
