Ripley Under Ground is an interesting blend of drama and thriller that explores the murky ethics of art and legacy. Roger Spottiswoode's direction carries a certain weight, capturing the atmospheric underbelly of London’s art scene. The pacing ranges from methodical to gripping, especially when our protagonist navigates the fallout of the murder. The film's exploration of identity and moral ambiguity is quite engaging. The performances, particularly by the lead, have a raw intensity that draws you in. There's a distinct tension throughout, fueled by the protagonist's desperate attempts to cling to a fleeting fame. It's not your typical thriller, and that’s what sets it apart – a deeper dive into the psyche of a man willing to do anything for success.
Focus on the art themes and ethics explored. Not your conventional thriller; slower pacing at times.Unique character exploration and moral dilemmas.
