The story follows Matthias, who returns to his village just before Christmas after quitting his job in Germany. His aim is to reconnect with his son, Rudi, and his ex-lover, Csilla, while also dealing with his aging father, Otto. However, the arrival of new workers at a local factory disrupts the community's fragile peace. This leads to a brewing storm of unresolved fears and conflicts among the adults, revealing the complexities of their relationships.
