Runaway Groom

In Runaway Groom, a dying father imposes a condition on his children for inheriting his property: his grandchildren must marry each other. The story follows two cousins, Mehri and Mehdi, as they navigate their family's expectations while grappling with their own romantic interests. Mehdi is involved with a singer, while Mehri has her sights set on a young assistant cook.

As the cousins initially refuse to marry, they opt for a temporary marriage to escape their fathers' pressures. Through a series of comedic and ridiculous adventures, they gradually come to realize their true feelings for each other. This film captures the essence of love and family obligations, set against the backdrop of 1960s Iranian cinema.
