Runaways

The film centers around Steve Moore, a sixteen-year-old living in Bakersfield, California. He faces the challenges of an abusive stepfather named John, whose violent behavior forces Steve into dangerous situations, including emergency hospital visits. His mother, Cheryl, prioritizes her relationship with John over her son's well-being, leading to Steve's arrest and placement in a correctional facility.

As the story unfolds, Steve is sent to stay with his uncle Burt in Hollywood, only to find that Burt cannot provide the support he needs.
