The film follows Tom Weston, who arrives in town only to discover that his father's death has been ruled a suicide. As the truth unfolds, the townsmen's hostility towards Tom grows when the Bank Examiner reveals the bank has no money. With his identity exposed, Tom narrowly escapes a lynch mob and sets out to find the real culprit behind the deception.

In his quest for justice, Tom confronts the phony bank examiner to extract a confession. This leads him to devise a clever trap for the murderer, intertwining themes of revenge and justice.
