Saiyuki: Requiem has this really haunting atmosphere, you know? The action is relentless, but it’s that blend of adventure and deeper themes that hooks you. The Sanzo party's struggle with their past is palpable, and the way they confront their ghosts is something else. The House Of Dougan? Man, it’s like a character in itself, sinister and intriguing. The animation is fluid, with some standout moments that just pull you in, especially during the fight scenes. And the performances bring a certain rawness, it feels authentic, not overly polished. There’s a sense of danger woven throughout that keeps the pacing taut. It’s distinctive, how it mixes the supernatural with these personal battles.
