Schwarzwaldmädel

The story follows two friends, Hans and Richard, as they arrive in the village of Sankt Christoph during the eve of St. Cecilia's Day. They find lodgings with the local cathedral choirmaster Blasius Römer and encounter a cast of characters including Bärbele, who harbors feelings for Römer, and Malwine, a newcomer from Berlin who has her sights set on Hans.

As the narrative unfolds, the relationships between the characters develop amidst the backdrop of the Cäcilienfest dance. The film explores themes of love and societal acceptance, particularly focusing on Bärbele, who faces prejudice due to her family ties. With its rich musical elements and dramatic storytelling, Schwarzwaldmädel presents a unique viewing experience set against the picturesque backdrop of the Black Forest.
