Scratch and Win is this quirky 1996 comedy that kind of slides into its own world. The story revolves around these three characters – Andrea, Maurizio, and Sergio – who are just experts at doing nothing. Maurizio's jealousy over his fiancée Anna, a policewoman, adds this interesting tension, while Sergio still clings to his mother, which is both comical and a bit sad. The pacing can feel a bit uneven at times, but it captures that laid-back, aimless vibe of the 90s perfectly. The performances have this rawness, especially with Andrea, who’s stuck under his wife’s thumb and a boxer brother-in-law. It’s more about the atmosphere and the distinct character dynamics than any grand plot. A real slice of life, if you will.
