Screwed is kind of an interesting mix, right? It leans heavily on the nostalgia of those 80s teen comedies, especially like Hughes' work, but it’s got this modern twist. The pacing is pretty snappy, which keeps you engaged, but it can feel a bit frantic at times. It’s a sex comedy, sure, but it’s not all cheap laughs – there’s a surprising amount of heart in the story about this guy’s quest for love. The performances are a bit hit and miss, but the ensemble does bring a certain charm.
