Sefarad

Set in 1496, Sefarad tells the story of King D. Manuel's prohibition of Judaism and the impact it had over the centuries. The narrative follows Barros Basto, a Portuguese army captain who converts to Judaism, as he joins about twenty Jewish merchants to establish the Jewish Community of Oporto in northern Portugal.
