Semper Fi: One Marine's Journey

This documentary tells the compelling story of Jeff Key, who at thirty-four years old joined the Marines to fulfill a lifelong dream. Despite having the option to avoid deployment by disclosing his sexual orientation, Key chose to serve his country and was later sent to Iraq after 9/11.

Upon returning home, Key faced the emotional aftermath of his experiences, which led him to create a one-man play that reflects his journey. Semper Fi utilizes a powerful combination of interviews, voiceovers, and personal footage from Iraq to illustrate the complexities of being a gay American in the military.
