Shallow 1-21

Shallow 1-21 consists of twenty-one "Musical Paintings" created from re-worked clips of pornography. Each short film is set to music composed by McLaren himself, showcasing his return to his roots as a visual artist.

The film premiered at Art Basel Projects and has been exhibited in notable venues such as Times Square in New York, the Royal Academy of Arts in London, the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. Its blend of visual art and music makes it a distinct entry in the documentary genre.
