Shortcut to Istanbul

Set in spring 1990 Berlin, Shortcut to Istanbul follows young Niyazi, a Turkish immigrant working at McDonald's. He dreams of returning to Istanbul and learns that living in East Berlin would allow him to save enough money to leave Germany sooner. This leads him to a blind date with Klara, a young woman from East Berlin, who has her own motivations for the encounter.
