Silent Running

The story follows Lowell, the ecologist tasked with maintaining the last remaining forests on a space station orbiting Saturn after Earth's flora has vanished. When ordered to destroy the greenhouses to make room for commercial cargo, Lowell defies his superiors and takes drastic measures to protect the plants. His only allies are three service robots programmed to assist him in preserving the fragile ecosystem.
