Snake Treaty

The film follows Guy Pehrsson as he returns to his childhood farming community after being summoned by his grandfather. Upon arrival, he finds his mother has left his abusive father and is living among the local Indigenous community. This return brings to light the ongoing tensions between the white farmers and the Indigenous population, who are faced with difficult decisions regarding their land amidst poverty.

As Guy reconnects with his estranged parents and childhood friends, he becomes embroiled in the struggle led by his friend Tom Redfox, advocating for the Indigenous people to retain their land. The narrative unfolds against a backdrop of impending confrontation, ultimately leading to a tragedy that impacts the entire community. Snake Treaty touches on themes of identity, belonging, and the historical complexities of land ownership.
