Soldier's Mementos

The story follows Jang-gun, a young man living in the remote village of Kkachigol with his mother. Despite his name meaning 'General' in Korean, Jang-gun dreams of being an ordinary farmer, focusing on growing potatoes and marrying his beloved, Kkotbuni. However, his life changes drastically when he receives a draft notice, leading him into the realities of war without a clear understanding of its implications.

With a cast featuring Maeng Se-chang, Seo Gap-suk, Dong Bang-woo, and others, the film captures the emotional and psychological toll of conscription on individuals and their families. The backdrop of inter-Korean relations provides a poignant context, emphasizing the personal stories that often get lost in the broader narrative of conflict.
