Some Like It Hot is a real gem of a comedy, blending sharp wit with a touch of chaos. Billy Wilder’s direction really captures the frantic energy of the Prohibition era, and the pace doesn't let up. Lemmon and Curtis are fantastic as the disguised musicians—it's hard to believe they weren't born for these roles. The dialogue sparkles with cleverness, and the situations get increasingly absurd yet never feel forced. It’s also interesting how it navigates gender roles, especially for a film that came out in '59. The practical effects, like the costumes and set designs, are charmingly retro, adding to its overall feel. Plus, Marilyn Monroe brings a unique charm, making her character memorable without overshadowing the leads.
