Something to Hide is a really interesting watch from 1972. Alastair Reid directs this crime drama that mixes tension with some darker themes. The pacing keeps you on edge, especially as the protagonist, played by a rather compelling lead, spirals deeper into chaos after picking up a hitchhiker. The atmosphere is thick with unease, and there's a rawness to the practical effects that adds to the authenticity. You can really feel the weight of the protagonist's marital strife and how it drives him to make impulsive decisions. The film quietly examines themes of desperation and moral ambiguity. It's not flashy, but the performances and the slow build toward violence make it distinctive in its own right.
