Sommer in Rom

The film follows Michael Heinrich, a journalist for a Cologne newspaper who embarks on a year-long assignment as the Italy correspondent. His wife, Susanne, a lawyer, joins him on her long-postponed sabbatical, but their two children, Tobias and Caroline, are initially resistant to the move. They face various challenges, including unfinished living arrangements and the complexities of Italian bureaucracy.

As they settle into their new life, the family begins to embrace the local culture, interacting with colorful characters like janitor Filippo and his cousin Toni.
