Sons of the Mountains

The story centers on Bohumil Hanč, one of the first ski racers, and his friend Václav Vrbata. The narrative unfolds between 1912 and 1913, starting with Hanč's victory in a 50 km race. He contemplates retirement at the request of his wife, Slávka, but is drawn back into competition when faced with formidable international rivals in 1913.

As the race progresses, the weather takes a dangerous turn, bringing fierce winds and snow that challenge the racers’ survival.
