Souliotes

The film portrays the story of the Souliotes, who learn of Ali Pasha's intentions to attack. Led by Tzavellas, the men prepare to defend their freedom against Ali's forces. Despite their repeated efforts to repel the army, the Souliotes face a prolonged siege that leads to a tragic decision.

In a dramatic turn of events, the women of the community choose to leap from the cliffs of Zaloggo while dancing, symbolizing their resistance. Meanwhile, the men opt for a different fate, deciding to explode a convent at Kougi mountain rather than be captured. This film captures the intense struggle and sacrifices made by the Souliotes in the face of overwhelming odds.
