The story follows Franz Blume, a hairdresser who bears a striking resemblance to the famous actor Günther Kolmin. While on vacation in Feuerstein, Blume becomes entangled in a series of humorous mix-ups, as others mistakenly believe he is the star. His shy attempts to clarify the situation only complicate matters further, especially as he enjoys newfound attention, particularly from Miss Petri.
