Still the Drums

The film tells the story of Lt. Jack E. Buchannon, who has been missing in action for thirty-nine years. His remains are finally found and identified, leading to a burial with full honors and a posthumous Medal of Honor presentation.

Following the funeral, three of Buchannon's childhood friends, who are also Vietnam veterans, reunite to reflect on their shared experiences and the bonds formed during their service. This narrative highlights the deep connections forged in times of conflict and the lasting effects of war on individuals and their relationships.
