Stranger in My Town

The film centers on Nozomi Takemoto, a reclusive first-year high school student living in Omuta. As summer break approaches its end, Nozomi embarks on a bicycle ride to explore the outskirts of her town. During her adventure, she discovers the remnants of a coal mine turret, which prompts her to investigate the town's rich history.

Nozomi's journey leads her to uncover hidden stories about her family and their connections to Omuta's past. Along the way, she meets a newspaper reporter covering the town's transformation after the coal mining era. This exploration of personal and communal history adds depth to Nozomi's character and her understanding of her identity.
