Sublime is one of those quietly unsettling horror flicks that lingers in the back of your mind. It’s got a slow-burn tension that builds as George, played by the solid Stephen Rea, finds himself trapped in Mt. Abaddon, which feels more like a maze of nightmares than a hospital. The atmosphere is thick with dread, and the practical effects are a nice touch, giving the film a tangible eeriness that modern CGI often lacks. The pacing can feel deliberate, almost dreamlike, which might not be for everyone, but it really enhances the disorientation. There's a certain bleakness to the themes of fear and existential dread that makes it stand out in the early 2000s horror landscape.
