Suck is this quirky blend of comedy, horror, and music that plays with the rock band trope in a pretty interesting way. The Winners, the band at the center, are just a bunch of lovable losers who get caught up in the chaos after one of their members, Jennifer, turns into a vampire. You really feel the struggle between their dreams and the absurdity of their situation. The performances, especially from Rob Stefaniuk as Joey and Jessica Paré as Jennifer, keep the tone light even when things get dark. Plus, the practical effects have this retro vibe that adds to the charm. The pacing is a bit uneven at times, but that just adds to the film’s offbeat atmosphere. It’s got a unique flavor, for sure.
