Summer Arousal

The film revolves around a series of indecent assaults in a southern county of China, with victims sharing a commonality of wearing one-piece dresses. Captain Hu and Officer Tsai are tasked with solving the case while managing their personal complications. Tsai faces health issues that add to his stress, and he unexpectedly reunites with a nurse named Fen from his past.

Meanwhile, Captain Hu grapples with his teenage daughter’s rapid transition into adulthood and the challenges that come with it. His family dynamics are further complicated by his semi-paralyzed father-in-law’s picky search for a nanny and his wife’s increasing emotional distance from the family. The narrative captures the struggles of both law enforcement and family life against the backdrop of summer in China.
