The Abe Clan

The Abe Clan tells the story of 19 vassals of Lord Hosokawa who seek permission to commit harakiri as a demonstration of loyalty. Only Yaichiemon Abe is denied this request and is forced into servitude under his lord’s successor. Faced with humiliation, Yaichiemon ultimately takes his own life, leading to dire consequences for his family.
