So, The Ant Bully, directed by John A. Davis, is this interesting blend of adventure and comedy that really plays with themes of empathy and understanding. The story follows Lucas, a kid who’s dealing with his own bullies by taking it out on an anthill, which, honestly, is kind of relatable. The animation is colorful and vibrant, capturing the tiny world of ants in a surprisingly intricate way. The pacing feels a bit off at times, but it lets you really soak in the tiny details of this underground society. The voice performances, especially from Nicolas Cage and Meryl Streep, add a nice depth to the characters. It’s one of those films that, while not groundbreaking, definitely stands out in the animation landscape for its unique perspective.
