The Aura is a slow-burn gem that drips with an unsettling atmosphere. Bielinsky’s direction gives it this hypnotic quality, really drawing you into the mind of the main character. The protagonist, a taxidermist, has this peculiar charm mixed with a sense of detachment that plays into the film’s themes of isolation and obsession. Pacing is deliberate, which might not be for everyone, but it works to build tension. The practical effects used in the taxidermy scenes are haunting, adding a layer of realism that enhances the overall vibe. Plus, the cinematography captures the stark beauty of the Argentine landscape in a really distinct way. It’s the kind of film that asks you to sit with it and think.
